DESIGN NOTE:

In the world of The Cleansing, a collage of experiences from the Bosnian War was brought to the stage.  Through real time action, exaggerated movement, dance and flashbacks, the emotional effects of living and working in a war torn Sarajevo are brought to the audience.  The lighting for  , working in conjunction with an elaborate sound design, needed to aid the audience in understanding in what environment and in what reality the action was taking place.  Through the use of color, texture, and angle, it should be understood whether we are in Verica's memory or at the Holiday Inn bar.  I created a structure for myself  in order to consistently execute lighting themes.
